Disengaging was written improvisationally, layer-by-layer during a particularly harsh winter. Inspired as much by the long-form drones of Stars of the Lid as the textural ambient folk of Grouper, the track is a comfort blanket for colder and more challenging times.
The first Goodparley track to feature full vocals, used as another instrumental layer.

Disengaging featured on the Slovakian indie imprint Z Tapes’ recent Winter Compilation and is now being released in edited and original form by Wormhole World, along with an improvised cover of one of Erik Satie’s legendary Gymnopedies.

This release of Disengaging is a three-track single printed on 3” mini CD, almost sold out two days into pre-orders, with all profits going to the mental health charity MIND.

MIND provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem and, campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding.
