Gaia is a new album of ambient electronic music. In ancient Greek mythology Gaia is the goddess that represents the earth. While making this album natural landscapes of the earth came to mind. Like a lot of ambient music Gaia has no drums. However, the album is very much based on melodic progression and rhythm rather than drones/repetition.

Mai is a pseudonym for the composer/musician/producer Steve McCourt. Originally from Dublin (Ireland) he now lives in Shanghai and makes beautiful wide-screen music from electronic and acoustic instruments. He holds a PhD in composition and a Master of Arts Degree in Music Technology
