After the acclaimed experimental pop of 2020's "Love Doesn't Exist" ended up in several album of the year lists, Netta Goldhirsch and Pete Murphy return with a collection of Netta's avant garde, sometimes improvised spoken word pieces backed by Pete's eclectic soundscapes and wonky, glitch ridden beats. Made entirely on an iPad and an iPhone in just a few days, and mixed on a £10 pair of earbuds, "You Cannot Not Know What You Know" flits between surreal sensuality and serious social commentary. Netta wrote and recorded one-take lyrics/vocals directly into the voice recorder on her phone, while bombs were literally going off outside her home in Israel. She sent the files to Pete, who lives 3,000 miles away in England, via messaging apps. 22 tracks were whittled down to the 13 you hear on the album.
