Double Anonymous, a name jokingly suggested by Mat Smith (Electronic Sounds, Mortality Tables) sees Veryan and Xqui remix one track of each other’s compositions for their first collaboration with the eponymously titled EP available as a strictly limited edition 3” compact disc and digital download. Where Veryan’s remix of Xqui’s subtle Left Side Hearing adds beats and melody to the mix, Xqui chooses a stripped-back affair for Veryan’s Side Stepping.

Both tracks show each artist in the prime of their creative abilities with a beautiful alignment between their alternative outlooks.

Veryan is an elusive female electronic musician based in Scotland. She composed and produces abstract, ambient-tinged instrumentals that are deliberately minimalistic and experimental in nature. Veryan’s music has been described as lush tonal electronica infused with warmth which, in turn, creates a sense of space within the soundscapes she composes.

Xqui first appeared in April 2018 with his Britannia EP which was swiftly followed by the Dragon album in May. Using field recordings which he manipulated via mobile phone and laptop, he created incredible soundscapes and was quickly compared to Eno, Basinski and Mansell. Since then, he has been in rich productive form.
